We know that visiting a church for the first time can be a little uncomfortable and awkward. Our desire is that our guests would feel that visiting Sent Church is more like visiting with extended family. Our style is informal and casual and you will find our church family warm and inviting.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our weekend service starts at 10 AM and the time leading up to the start of the service is spent sipping coffee, chatting with friends and meeting new people.
A worship team leads the congregation in songs at the start of the service and following the sermon. Song lyrics are projected so you can participate if you would like to. From time to time, we do invite people to pray for one another in small groups during worship.
The sermon, or message, is based on the Bible and is designed to help us understand God and to grow as Christ followers. We mainly teach through books of the Bible but the message series are crafted so that you can jump in at any time and not feel like you missed out.
After the sermon we enter into a time of communion to thank God and remind ourselves of our love and need for Jesus Christ. Instructions are given for this portion and all Christ followers and their believing children are invited to participate. As an act of worship, giving is encouraged during the offering. As our guest there is no pressure for you to give. We are here to serve you. Many stay after the service to talk and go have lunch together.
We would like to connect with you. Take a moment and complete the Connection Card that is in one of the seat bottoms of the row in front of you. Drop that card off at our Welcome Desk in the lobby, one of our host team members will have a gift for you as our way of saying “Thanks”.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
Children are very important to us. Partnering with parents in the spiritual development of their children is something that we count as a privilege. We have childcare for infants, toddlers and Kid’s Church for children grades K-3. Sign up for Sent Kids is in the lobby. A host team member can direct you. Grades K-3rd are part of the adult worship service and they are seated with their parents. They will be dismissed after the music portion of our service for their class. We strongly believe in the power of intergenerational worship and our children being part of the adult gathering rather than always segregating them for the entire service.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
Most are in casual dress though you are welcome to wear your Sunday best. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
